Chelsea take on Swiss side Servette in the first leg of their Europa Conference League play-off this evening, so we simulated the game to get a score prediction.
After defeat in their opening Premier League game of the 2024/25 season, Chelsea will be hoping to get their first win of the campaign against Swiss side Servette on Thursday evening.
Despite a promising performance, Enzo Maresca’s side suffered defeat at the hands of champions Manchester City last weekend, but with the Blues set to put out a strong side against Swiss side Servette in the first leg of their Europa Conference League play-off this evening, a win is definitely on the cards.
Following their recent omission from the squad, the likes of Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling won’t be involved this evening,
with the likes of Marc Guiu, Tosin Adarabioyo, Pedro Neto, Filip Jorgensen likely to start at Stamford Bridge,
So, can Chelsea grab a win in the first leg of their Europa Conference League play-off? Let’s take a look.
We simulated Chelsea vs Servette to get a score prediction
To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 24 and updated the squads with the latest injuries, suspensions, and transfers. As this is still EA FC 24, the 2024/25 kits and kit numbers may not be accurate.
We predict that Chelsea could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Jorgensen; Gusto, Tosin, Badiashile, Cucurella; Caicedo, Dewsbury-Hall; Madueke, Palmer, Neto; Guiu.
We predict that Servette could line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Frick; Tsunemoto, Rouiller, Severin, Mazikou; Douline, Ondoua; Stevanovic, Antunes, Kutesa; Crivelli.
Chelsea’s strong lineup made light work of the Swiss side, with the Blues going 2-0 up within half an hour. The opening goal came courtesy of Cole Palmer, with the midfielder finding space in the middle of the penalty area, new signing Neto found him with an accurate comeback and Palmer had a simple finish with his weaker foot.
On his full debut, it was Neto who grabbed the second goal to go with his assist, with the Portugal international being sent clear on goal thanks to a brilliant pass by Palmer, before firing an accurate finish into the bottom right corner. The Blues had a few more chances to extend their lead, particularly through Guiu and Madueke, but Frick was on hand to deny them.
The second half was much quieter, with Maresca withdrawing Palmer, Caicedo and Cucurella pretty early on and that unsettled the side somewhat, with Servette dominating possession after the break, albeit without looking particularly dangerous at any stage. In the end, it was a comfortable win for Chelsea, in what is their first of the season.
