Liverpool have yet to make any new signings under new manager Arne Slot, but that is expected to change before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month
Liverpool are entering a new era under Arne Slot, which will officially get underway in just 10 days.
Slot has replaced Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool boss after the German decided to step down after almost nine years in charge and the Reds are set to kick off the new Premier League season with a trip to Portman Road to face Ipswich on August 17.
Liverpool have yet to make any new signings so far this summer, but that could yet change with the club linked with several names. With all that in mind, Mirror Football takes a look at the latest transfer news surrounding the club.
Slot eyes first signing
According to The Athletic, Liverpool are targeting a new midfielder before the transfer window slams shut.
The report states that they are ‘pursuing a specialist No 6 from outside of the Premier League’, with Slot having used Wataru Endo, Ryan Gravenberch, and Dominik Szoboszlai in the role during pre-season.
Liverpool have rejected an offer in the region of £12m for Endo this summer, but their stance could now change if they bring in a replacement. Many other clubs are also interested in the Japan international.

Robertson replacement identified
According to TYC Sports, Liverpool are targeting Argentinian Olympic starlet Julio Soler as a potential long-term replacement for Andy Robertson.
Soler impressed at the Olympics as Argentina reached the quarter-finals, with the 19-year-old featuring in every game. The report states that Liverpool have been scouting Soler and that the full-back is valued at around £13m.
Soler joined Club Atletico Lanus at the age of nine and has gone on to make 36 first-team appearances for the club after being handed his senior debut back in 2022.

Ex-Reds youngster finds new club
Former Liverpool attacking midfielder Mateusz Musialowski has joined Cypriot club Omonoia after he was released by the Reds.
Musialowski joined Liverpool in 2020 and made one first-team appearance, coming off the bench against Sparta Prague in the Europa League last season. “It’s a good opportunity for me to compete, consistently, in the first team,” Musialowski said of the move.
“It’s a big step for my career and that’s why I decided to come. I liked the proposal from the team and the project.”
