Arsenal are planning to move several players on this summer as Mikel Arteta once again looks to reshape things.

The Gunners want to make new signings as well

and are close to agreeing on a deal to sign Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori.

However, while Calafiori will arrive and strengthen the ranks,

there is an understanding at the club that players also need to be moved on to help balance the books.

Several names like Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah, and Reiss Nelson are all on the list of potential Arsenal sales.

But while those three are simply the subject of interest at the moment,

another player, Albert Sambi Lokonga, looks to be well on his way out.

Arsenal advancing talks to sell Albert Sambi Lokonga to Sevilla

Speaking for Sky Sports about the potential for Lokonga to move on,

Sheth has revealed that talks are well underway between the Gunners and Sevilla.

“Sevilla are advancing in talks with Arsenal over the signing of midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga,” Sheth said.

“The deal is understood to be an initial loan with performance-related conditions,

which would permit the loan to turn into an obligation to buy.

“Lokonga spent last season at Luton and has two years left on his Arsenal contract.”

Arsenal paid £17m to sign Lokonga in the first place but he has failed to have a big impression at the club.

However, he did spend last season on loan with Luton and won praise for his performances under Rob Edwards.

That form seems to have earned him a big move and Sevilla looks like they’re keen on getting this one done.

Quite whether the sale clause will bring that £17m back, remains to be seen.

But in the main, this is good news for Arsenal who know they need to be as good at selling players as they do at bringing them in.
