Chelsea are reportedly prepared to listen to offers of around £30m for Omari Hutchinson, amid interest from Ajax.

The 20-year-old made the cross-capital switch from Arsenal to the West London Blues during the summer of 2022 but has yet to cement his place in the first-team plans at Stamford Bridge.

Hutchinson spent the 2023-24 term on loan at Championship outfit Ipswich Town, who had just been promoted from League One before the attacker’s temporary arrival.

Exceeding all expectations, the Tractor Boys made it back-to-back promotions in 2023-24, finishing second in the second-tier standings behind Leicester City.

Hutchinson played a major part in helping Ipswich to secure Premier League football for the first time in over two decades, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 50 appearances.

Is Chelsea willing to part ways with Hutchinson?

According to football.London, Chelsea are willing to part ways with Ipswich hero Hutchinson after just two years on the books at Stamford Bridge.

The report states that the Blues will listen to offers in the region of £30m for the 20-year-old, who has played on the senior international stage for Jamaica.

It is understood that Ipswich are keen on securing the services of Hutchinson on a permanent deal at Portman Road, as Kieran McKenna‘s men prepare for a first top-flight appearance in 22 years.

However, the promotion-winning East Anglians face serious competition for the signature of the former Gunner and England youth international.

Bundesliga heavyweights Stuttgart are said to be huge admirers of Hutchinson and are looking to lure the attacker to Germany with the prospect of Champions League football.

Despite struggling last campaign and failing to win the Eredivisie, the reported interest from Ajax will be flattering for the Chelsea man during this window.

Arsenal stands to benefit from Hutchinson’s move

Moving across enemy lines from Arsenal to Chelsea two years ago, Hutchinson could seriously benefit his former employers should he make a move away from Stamford Bridge.

It is believed that the deal that allowed the 20-year-old to switch to West London contained a sell-on clause in the favour of Mikel Arteta‘s men.

Any percentage of Hutchinson’s transfer fee that Arsenal would receive is set to count as pure profit in their Profit and Sustainability calculations, due to the attacker’s status as a homegrown player.
