Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has been having his say on some big names from around the European game while away with Portugal at the European Championship
Liverpool forward Diogo Jota says that he has a teammate at club level who is even better than Real Madrid and England superstar Jude Bellingham, who signed for the La Liga giant last summer from Borussia Dortmund.
Jota, who was left on the sidelines as Portugal qualified for the last-16 of the European Championship by beating Turkey earlier today, has been speaking to various outlets during the competition. Previously, he has placed himself above Mohamed Salah when it comes to finishing and labeled Alexis Mac Allister as the best player in the Premier League.
Now, blind ranking various soccer stars, he has put Trent Alexander-Arnold above Bellingham. While the Liverpool number 66 has not been able to show his best form in Germany yet playing in midfield, he is still one the very best in the world.
Having placed Alexander-Arnold in second spot, Jota was then asked to give a ranking for Bellingham. “Third then,” he said on a video with Goal that was shared on Instagram.
AS Roma and Argentina forward Paulo Dybala was placed in fifth spot, with Arsenal and Brazil striker Gabriel Jesus in fourth. The last name, which had to be placed in first place because of the video format, was Jota himself.
Liverpool.com says: The talent that Alexander-Arnold has should not be played down, even if Gareth Southgate can’t seem to get the best out of him. The Liverpool vice-captain is one of the best full-backs in the world at his best and has barely had any practice at all in the center of midfield.
As the international tournament progresses, it will be interesting to see what England does with Alexander-Arnold. On the evidence of the matches with Serbia and Denmark, there might not be too many more fixtures left for the Three Lions after their final group fixture against Slovenia on Tuesday.
